Michel Risse studied music and percussion at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg with Jean Batigne, but also with the Gnaouas and Ahuaches of North Africa and in various rock, jazz and other "attractive French orchestras" and in company from Moondog to Vince Taylor to Angel Parra , Nicolás Frize, Red Herb or the Bekummernis Grand Orchestra, while continuing his studies in musicology at the University of Paris 8.

This experience of percussionist, -instrumentist and improviser has led quickly in many studios for the recording of music for films and theater and especially in the theaters of the stage (TNS, Th. Burgundy ...).

It was in 1972 when he composed his first "sound scenes", electroacoustic installations for public spaces (Strasbourg: Porte de l'Hôpital, Museum of Modern Art (1984), Fnac (1982), Agadir: Atlas Hotel), Paris: Palais de Chaillot (1983).

He has been responsible for the organization and production of audio for many records, and has published a multitude of articles for the audio and music technical press. His discography includes some thirty references, in which he appears alternately as an instrumentalist, director, arranger or composer. He is also the partner of many creations by Serge Hureau and the Hall of Song.
The invention of the first octagonal spatializer in the world in 1984 for the "Faux Vent" project by Pierre Sauvageot marks his collaboration and the founding of Décor Sonore, a creative and research unit of which he is artistic director. This company has been offering to the public since 1985 unique concerts mixing theater, pyrotechnics, poetry, humor, technology and of course musical creation.

Under his direction, sound decoration develops "place of manufacture" dedicated to the creations of street arts, track and new scenes center of reflection on the relationship between drama and noise, where manufacturing was invented and build new sounds, music, spaces and broadcasting systems, and a center of transmission and awareness of our sound environment.
