26th Festival de Curitiba

A tradition in Fringe, which will be held this year, is the organization of several groups in specific shows with independent curatorships - one in Portugal, one in Rio de Janeiro, one in Minas Gerais, two with companies from several cities and six local shows. In all, there will be 11 cores.

The idea is to join forces to show the productions in an event that arouses the interest of the media and the public, increasing the chances for recognition of the work done.

There are programming in the theaters Fernanda Montenegro, Paulo Autran and João Luiz Fiani.

Rosa Choque

The show Rosa Choque, from the Collective the Connectors, winner of the 3rd edition of the Copasa / Sinparc Award in the Best Show, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Lighting category continues to give rise to discussions on how to approach violence against women.

Rosa Choque presents an approach to this violence in various parts of the world: sexual violence, social violence, moral violence. Despite advances in gender equality, the number of women victims of feminicide continues to grow. The discussion proposed by Rosa Choque was fomented from news reports in the press and on social networks about the frequent abuses suffered by women, as well as the experience of the actors on the subject. In addition to the physical and biological differences, what distinguishes men and women in the imaginary of our society? In a world in which this violence is naturalized and based on rooted patterns of behavior, Rosa Choque proposes to the public the displacement of her point of view, to provoke the discussion from other glances.

Alice diferente

White Rabbit, Queen of Hearts, Mad Hatter, March Hare are the characters in Lewis Carrol's famous novel "Alice in Wonderland," which arrives at the Fringe of the 26th Festival in Curitiba.

"Alice, An Almost Contemporary Punk-Rock Opera" is a spectacle made by young people for young people. Twenty-five actors of the "Poetic Codes of the Contemporary Scene" (ES), in a bold and hybrid language, that launches projections, multiplication of characters and performativity, as well as a remarkable soundtrack.

There are many issues that "Alice" raises in the training of a young man. Among them is the prospect of finding a place in a world that often seems inhospitable to us. The protagonist is a girl who faces this issue with courage and determination, not basing herself on the strangeness of her characters and gratuity of certain social relations. This world, also metaphorical of our interior, needs to be recognized and elaborated, so that a place is built in it.

Theater students will have the opportunity to listen to the playwright, director and professor of Performing Arts, Roberto Alvim, in a free lecture inside the "Interlocutions", simultaneous event to the Festival of Curitiba.

The playwright is a professor at the Dramaturgy Center of SESI Curitiba and was the first Brazilian author with a text published in the most important collection of contemporary dramaturgy in Europe: Les Solitaires Intempestifs.
